29th Visit (October): confirmed the expansion of sea buckthorn cultivation areas from Unhung County to Hoeryong and Samjiyon.

  • Reviewed the five-year project plan beginning in 2026 : Hoeryong City: 50 jeongbo, Unhung County: 20 jeongbo, Other northern coastal cities and counties: 30 jeongbo (Total: 100 jeongbo)
  • Regarding sea buckthorn fruit processing: Based on pilot production tests conducted by the Forest Products Exchange Center under the Forest Research Institute, which utilized fruits harvested in Hoeryong and Unhung, the project includes plans to adopt processing technology and expand local processing capacity.
  • Achieved the first large-scale harvest in Unhung County, yielding 2.5 tons of fruit.
  • Set a long-term goal of producing over 250 tons.
    • Twenty-seventh Visit (May): Discussed expansion plans and research exchanges with China.
    • Twenty-eighth Visit (November): Confirmed successful cultivation of 60 hectares in Unhung and discussed further expansion.



  • Confirmed Unhung County as the optimal site with a 90% survival rate for 1 hectare of planted trees.
  • Supported processing facilities at Daesong Test Site.
